Move Your Body, Love Your Body
Movement matters. It’s one of those foundational things our bodies were built for—when we move, we boost circulation, stretch and strengthen muscles and bones, spark energy, and simply feel more alive. But here’s the thing: movement doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some of us sprint, lift weights, or hit high-intensity workouts. Others walk daily, stretch gently, or enjoy yoga and tai chi. And many of us fall somewhere in between—maybe we’re working around an old injury, managing a health condition, or simply starting off after a long pause.
Whatever your situation, the key is finding the type of movement that speaks to you. Here are some ideas but please engage only in a new activity if it is safe considering any limitations, injuries, or health conditions you may be dealing with.
-
Take a brisk walk around the neighborhood, swing your arms, feel the breeze.
-
Try gentle stretching or a morning mobility routine that awakens your body.
-
Go for a light jog, cycle, or hop on the treadmill if that’s your rhythm.
-
Visit the gym and choose a machine you enjoy, or join a class you’ll actually look forward to.
-
Find a hobby that moves you—garden work, dancing in the living room, swimming, hiking with a friend.
-
Practice strength movements like body-weight squats, light weights, resistance bands.
-
Try something calm and soothing: restorative yoga, pilates, gentle walk in nature, or balancing exercises.
Start small. Maybe five or ten minutes. Do something just often enough that it becomes a habit. Gradually increase time, frequency or intensity. The real magic lies in consistency—not perfection. If your body can move in a way you enjoy and can sustain, you’re already winning.
Now, Let’s Support Those Muscles & Bones
As we commit to movement—whether gentle or vigorous—our muscles and bones will appreciate a little extra love. They’re the structure that supports us, and when we use them, they respond: they build strength, they repair, they adapt. But they also need care, especially if we’ve pushed hard, carried extra load, or are working around limitations.
That’s where targeted support comes in: nourishing your body with movement and complementing it with gentle tools that help soothe, restore, and maintain. Enter the wonderful world of essential oils—nature’s way of helping our muscles and bones thrive. Below, you’ll find some of the best oils and blends that can align beautifully with your self-care routine. Let’s dive in.
Taking care of our muscles and joints is so important for staying active and feeling our best every day. Whether it’s from overuse, stress, or even just the normal wear and tear of life, discomfort in our bones and muscles can really slow us down. With over 200 bones working together with ligaments, tendons, and cartilage to support our movement, it’s crucial to give our body the care it needs to stay mobile and healthy.
A balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D plays a key role in bone health, but I also want to share how powerful essential oils can be, especially when it comes to soothing achy muscles and joints. Using essential oils before or after exercise can make a huge difference—they may help relax tension, reduce soreness, and greatly support our recovery process. The natural properties of essential oils like lavender, marjoram and frankincense are calming and soothing, peppermint is cooling, stimulating, and drives other oils deeper into the tissues, cypress supports circulation, and wintergreen soothes achy feelings — just to name a few. So, I love applying essential oils to sore spots, whether I’m dealing with muscle fatigue or achy joints. They’ve been a great addition to my wellness routine, keeping me feeling flexible and ready to move!

Two essential oil blends that I’m never without are ‘Aromatouch‘ and ‘Deep Blue‘ essential oil blends.
Contains:
Cypress, Peppermint, Marjoram, Basil, Grapefruit, Lavender essential oils.
This blend is soothing, relaxing, helps lesson tension and tightness. Add one to two drops to a little bit of fractionated coconut oil and massage into the desired area. Really great after exercise! Can also be added to Epsom salts for a soothing hot bath.
Contains:
Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile and Osmanthus.
This blend is soothing, cooling, and extremely comforting to achy muscles and joints. It is also available as a Deep Blue Lotion (which I personally really love and are never without) which helps me before and after exercise and occasional feelings of achiness that seem to pop up.
Supporting the Body from the Inside Out
To support the body from the inside out and support a healthy inflammatory response, it is important to eat a healthy and anti-inflammatory diet.
