If you sometimes wonder ‘When did my skin start feeling thinner, looser, or less… bouncy?” — you’re not alone. Our skin elasticity naturally changes as we age, but here’s the good news: there’s so much we can do to support, maintain, and even improve it, not just on the face, but all over the body.

Elasticity is what gives skin that soft resilience — the ability to stretch and gently return to itself. Over time, collagen and elastin slow down, hydration decreases, and certain areas tend to show it more quickly than others.

Areas That Tend to Lose Elasticity First

Some parts of the body are more prone to sagging or thinning skin:

  • Neck and décolleté
  • Upper arms
  • Inner thighs
  • Abdomen
  • Knees and elbows
  • Hands

These areas often have less oil production, thinner skin, or experience frequent stretching — which means they benefit from consistent care and nourishment.

Gentle, Natural Ways to Support Skin Elasticity

💧 Moisturize (More Often Than You Think)

Hydrated skin looks and behaves more resilient.

  • Moisturize at least once daily, ideally after bathing when skin is still slightly damp
  • Dry or thinning areas may benefit from twice-daily application
  • Consistency matters more than quantity

🌿 Essential Oils to Support Elasticity

Essential oils don’t replace healthy skin structure — but they do support circulation, tone, and overall skin vitality when used properly.

Some of my favorite essential oils to boost the skin:

  • Frankincense – supports skin regeneration and tone
  • Myrrh – deeply nourishing for mature or thinning skin
  • Rose – hydrates and supports elasticity (especially for delicate areas)
  • Geranium – deeply moisturizing supporting elasticity
  • Helichrysum – often used for skin renewal and resilience
  • Lavender – calming and supportive for overall skin health

Simple Elasticity-Boosting Lotion Blend

Add this to 8 oz of unscented, natural lotion or body cream:

  • 6 drops Frankincense
  • 4 drops Myrrh
  • 4 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Rose or Geranium (optional but lovely)

Mix well and apply daily with gentle, upward strokes — especially on arms, neck, abdomen, and thighs. For more DIY skin care recipes and info for your specific skin type, see my free gift to you at the bottom of this newsletter.

🥑 Nourish from the Inside Out

Skin health is deeply connected to nutrition.

Foods that support elasticity:

  • Healthy fats: avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds
  • Protein-rich foods: eggs, fish, legumes, collagen-rich broths
  • Vitamin C sources: citrus, berries, bell peppers
  • Zinc-rich foods: pumpkin seeds, chickpeas
  • Antioxidants: leafy greens, colorful vegetables

A Daily Boost from Within: MetaPWR Advantage

When we talk about supporting skin elasticity from the inside out, one thing that’s worth mentioning is MetaPWR Advantage — a daily supplement that many have started adding to their wellness routines. This formula includes marine collagen tripeptides, which research suggests may help improve skin density, firmness, hydration, and overall appearance as we age.* It also contains vitamin C, which plays a key role in helping the body produce and stabilize collagen, and ingredients like NMN and resveratrol that are being studied for their potential to support healthy cellular aging and metabolic function.* Together, these components can complement your skin-care habits by nourishing your body’s collagen support system from within — giving you another tool in your toolkit for maintaining youthful, resilient skin. Other Supplements That May Help

Always check with your healthcare provider, but many people find support from:

  • Vitamin C (supports collagen production)
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Silica (often overlooked but helpful for skin structure)

Move to Support Your Skin (Yes, Even Your Face)

Movement is one of the most underrated tools for healthy, resilient skin. Regular exercise boosts circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients to skin cells while helping the body clear out waste — which supports elasticity and that natural glow we all love. Strength training helps maintain muscle tone under the skin (especially in areas like arms, thighs, and abdomen), while gentle practices like yoga, Pilates, and walking reduce stress hormones that can quietly break down collagen over time. And yes, even the face benefits from movement — facial exercises or “face yoga” help stimulate blood flow, support underlying muscles, and encourage a lifted, more toned appearance when practiced consistently. Think of movement as nourishment for your skin from the inside out — not about pushing harder, but about showing up regularly and kindly for your body.

Small Daily Habits That Add Up

  • Avoid very hot showers (they dry and weaken skin)
  • Dry brush gently 2–3 times per week to support circulation
  • Stay hydrated — skin reflects internal hydration
  • Get sunlight sensibly and protect skin when needed
  • Be kind to your skin — aggressive scrubs and harsh products can do more harm than good
  • Get your body moving — regular, daily exercises for sustained results
